Tylogram 1.0

This puzzle game challenges players to identify the pangram within a grid of eight letters, offering an opportunity to achieve titles such as Master Wordsmith or Grand Lexicographer. Designed to appeal to enthusiasts of spelling and word formation, it provides a stimulating cognitive exercise.

The primary objective is to generate as many valid English words as possible from the provided tiles, strategically arranging them to maximize point totals. Words are constructed by tapping or clicking on the tiles or by typing directly from the keyboard. Every valid entry must include the designated shaded anchor letter.

Scoring is based on the value of individual tiles within the grid; for example, the central tile is worth four points per occurrence across your submitted words. Players can adjust letter values by sliding tiles using swipe gestures or keyboard arrow keys. These modifications influence overall scoring, as changing tile values will cause your total points to fluctuate accordingly.

Special tiles, such as the × square, carry a value of zero points, and the anchor letter inherently holds zero points, even if located on a numbered square. On a × square, however, its value is considered minus one point.

A pangram—using all eight letters at least once—awards double the base score for submitted words.

Input validation requires words to be valid English entries; hyphenated forms, proper nouns (unless uncapitalized and common), adjectives, and foreign words adopted into English are generally not accepted unless specified otherwise. Compound phrases are also excluded.

Some puzzles incorporate bonus questions, with additional answers granting up to 120 points when all are found.

The objective is to meet or beat the highest recorded score for each puzzle. New challenges are issued every Tuesday and Friday, inviting players to test their vocabulary prowess and strategic thinking.
